Minister: Rosgeo prospects rare earth metals in Sudan
MOSCOW, Aug 19 (PRIME) -- Russia is interested in rare earth metals of Sudan, and state geological exploration company Rosgeo is participating in their exploration, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Alexander Kozlov said on Friday.
"We are participating in prospecting these fields, because Rosgeo, whose board of directors chairman I am, is represented by the affiliates of Zarubezhgeologia. We are working in Sudan among other countries of the African continent," Kozlov said.
Department head Ivan Kushch said that Zarubezhgeologia finished the first two stages of a contract on the development of a map of mineral resources of the country at a one to million scale.
"The company has proceeded with the third stage and with training of the Sudanese researchers to work with the geological maps in the ArcGIS application. We hope that the colleagues will start field works on September 1," Kushch said.
